GT Live is returning to VIR on October 6th and 7th this year for Round 2. Hopefully, there will be less (read: NO) rain this year. We had a blast last year hanging out with the MazdaSport guys, chatting with the Speedsource guys, not riding the SIM race (because it was slow due to the rain), watching the Grand-Am Cup race (now called the Koni Challenge), and being completely frozen haha.

This year in addition to all of the events they had last year (sim race, drift show, bike show, car show, fan festivals, koni challenge, lap battle, girls), they are also offering for the first time the Drift Challenge where we can ride along with pro drifters. It's similar to the SIM race, except it's drifting instead of lapping the track in really really fast cars. It should be great. A number of us from NC will be participating in the lap battle this year. Theme: 'Operatoin beat Jonny' haha. Jonny was the guy from VA with the White TII RX-7 who spanked up on the competition in the lap battle last year. He did that on a wet track, which means he will be even faster this year (provided it's dry).

MazdaDays is returning again this year. The NC Rotaries car club (formally known as the rrdi ... we realized that over half of our members were not Raleigh residents which resulted in a name change) is preparing to make this the best Mazda meet on the east cost. To do that we need LOTS AND LOTS of Mazda cars to show up. There is a possibility that Mazda USA will provide some things for us. I'll keep you posted on that.

Also, this year we have discounts! You can use the promo code 'WIBOB' when buying your tickets to get you $5 off a weekend pass, or $2 off a one day pass. Motorsports at a discount... mmmm mmmm good. The code is multi use, so feel free to distribute it as you wish.

I'm slowly making my way around to the different forums I'm registered at and posting information about it. I'll point them to this thread (free advertisement for mazooa and GT Live at the same time

). If any of you guys could help me out and post on your respective boards, that would be great! Direct them here too so we can get some kind of singular point of Mazda hot going on. So far, I've got the rx8club.com, rx7club.com, and rx8web.com covered (can you tell I'm a rotary owner hahaha).

I'll be there again, I wouldn't miss this even if it snows this year. The rain wasn't to bad last year, just a little chilly. And I want more pics of me with you know who.

If you haven't been to an event like this you should really try. Bikes, cars and GT LIVE girls.

Last check I did on Friday there were 5 RX-8s and 2 MX-5s entered for the race Saturday. Can you say ZOOM ZOOM?

Sorry Greg, just an XL ZOOM ZOOM shirt, MNAO didn't send as much as expected but hey anything will do. I managed to acquire some LED Mazda key chains, some pens, and another type key chain.

Also, to pass along to everyone...Sylvain Tremblay of SpeedSource Inc has agreed to have the team appear for an autograph signing at session for MAZDADAYS!!!

Nah, just messing man. That stuff should go to people that are going to show up for the event. I'll get off on just seeing a huge turnout hopefully! Glad you were able to get what you could and that they at least sent something!
